Mercedes-Benz Concept A-Class is ‘stunning’ vehicle

The new Mercedes-Benz Concept A-Class is a "stunning" vehicle, according to one review.

Writing for Auto Express, Sam Hardy observed that the vehicle boasts sharp creases, plus short overhangs front and rear.

"The wide grille is dominated by the three-pointed star badge, which is made more eye-catching by metallic hexagons radiating out from its edges," he noted.

This effect is repeated by the alloys and the wing-shaped LED lights, which get daytime running lamps incorporating 90 optical fibres with aluminium sleeves.

The vehicle features a radar-based collision warning system with adaptive Brake Assist, which lowers the risk of rear-end smashes.

He added: "The luxurious but minimalist four-seat cabin has an integrated smartphone, which controls all the functions via a rotary dial on the centre console. A digital display keeps the driver informed."

In other news, globally Mercedes-Benz posted a 12.7 per cent increase in sales during the first three months of 2011, compared to the same period last year.
