smart car update: Highline Radio

Thanks to the clever technical team at smart car we’ve got an update that makes a few positive tweaks to the highline radio unit for recently-bought smart fortwos.

The update is now available and you can get your hands on it under warranty at your local smart car dealership for all post-September 2010 smart cars – just ask for the InfoNet SV-1287 update and they’ll know just what to do.

Owners of these not-yet-one-year-old smarts will be able to gain improved satnav functionality in the highline entertainment system, with the update carefully created to make it even more user-friendly and packed with additional features.

There’s a bundle of benefits to the upgrade, with the unit now able to offer improved iPhone/iPod streaming performance and all manner of map add ons to make your smart journeys even sweeter. You can calculate alternative routes, with stopovers and points of interest (POIs), including helpful stuff like petrol stations.

The new navigation settings add to the smart experience too, with the upgrade incorporating three types of route setting, four map displays, POI display options and the ability to turn off the speech output.

The best way to make sure that your post-September 2010 smart fortwo has the very latest highline functionality is to get in touch with your local smart retailer and book it in for the update.
